Senators are now in closed session to take a firm position over the refusal of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to appear before them.

He has been summoned thrice by the parliament over the rising cases of killings in the country and the arrest of Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi).

Idris was to appear today before the plenary but he didn’t, even as he did not send a representative.

Previously, he has sent the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Habila Joshak, but the Senate sent him way.

The session starts at 12.24pm.
