A senatorial candidate in Plateau State has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce within 24 hours the result of the National Assembly election in the state.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Plateau Central Senatorial zone, Diket Plang, made the call at a press conference in Jos at the weekend.

Plang said, “I contested as the candidate of my party APC in the National Assembly election for Plateau Central Senatorial zone, and I’m worried that eight days after the election, INEC has not announced the results.

“I hereby use this medium to call on the INEC to announce the results of the National Assembly election for Plateau Central Senatorial zone without delay.”

Similarly, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged INEC not to tamper with the results of the National Assembly election won by the candidate of their party.

The state publicity secretary of APC in the state, Sylvanus Namang, gave the warning in a press statement in Jos yesterday.

The party however appealed to its supporters to remain calm and law-abiding.
