The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated the Accord party in Daura local government area of Katsina state in Saturday’s senatorial election.
President Muhammadu Buhari hails from the local government area.
The Collation Officer, Professor Ojonigu Friday Ati, said APC’s senatorial candidate, Ahmad Baba Kaita polled 24,518 votes, Accord party’s candidate, Mohammed Lawal Nalado got 12,501 and Mani Nasarawa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 5,028 votes.

It will be recalled that Accord party defeated APC in Sarkin Yara Ward A, Kofar Baru polling unit (03) in Daura, where President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha voted on Saturday.
