Chairman, Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), says right basic education will make all other levels easier for Nigerian students. According to her, the nation’s future lies in effective and sound basic education.
She spoke while flagging off the presentation of multi-million naira instructional materials to the education secretaries of the 17 Local Government Areas for 84 schools in Adamawa Central Senatorial District.

She said: “The moment we’re able to get our basic education right, our future as a nation is guaranteed. This particular event is important and very dear to my heart as it aims at strengthening our basic education thereby renewing hope for our children who are the leaders of tomorrow.
“I opted for massive interventions in pre-primary and primary schools in my district because this is where the future lies. I’m flagging off 146 different interventions of instructional materials to address the gaps in our instructional materials. Without appropriate tools and conducive environment, learning will be meaningless.”
The materials included customized exercise books, text books, sets of students’ customized tough plastic tables and chairs, mathematics teaching kits, packs of pens, pencils, white boards, furniture for teachers and school heads, laser jet printers, desktop computers and generating sets.
