The senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial Zone, Senator Sahabi Ya’u, has trained 1,500 youths, among them women, in vocational skills and entrepreneurship development in the four local government areas of the zone
Speaking during the distribution exercise of the empowerment materials and the commissioning of constituency projects in Kaura-Namoda town, Senator Ya’u said the beneficiaries were trained in various skills to enable them to become self-reliant.
He said, “Through the training, we would make them self-reliant and generate wealth and create employment opportunities to our teeming youths and women.”
The empowerment materials distributed included 45 cars, motorcycles, 150 keke Napep, 50 sewing machines, 150 grinding machines, 180 laptops and GSM repair tools.
Others are, pump repair tools, vulcanizing machines and goats and sheep.
As part of his constituency projects in health care delivery, he said he provided medical equipment and supplies to Primary Health Care centres in the four LGAs in the zone and also renovated Kaura-Namoda General Hospital.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Principal Consultant AMSAG Development and Public Health Consulting, Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, said they trained about 1500 youths, women, farmers in various skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development.
