Lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba, has condemned the killing of the village head of Riruwai community, Alhaji Garba Badamasi.
Badamasi, the traditional leader of Riruwai in Toro Local Government Area (LGA), was kidnapped last Friday when gunmen attacked his palace.
The assailants did not contact any of his family members. The lifeless body was later recovered by those who had embarked on a search of surrounding areas.
The corpse was on Sunday transported to the palace of the District Head of Lame in Gumau, where funeral prayers and burial were conducted in line with Islamic injunctions.

Lamenting the devastating incident, Senator Buba, in a statement on Tuesday, charged security agencies to be proactive in tracking and arresting the perpetrators.
The lawmakers urged them to make sure justice is served to those behind the dastardly act, with a view to cushioning the traumatic pain of the village head’s family, relatives and associates.
Buba described the Badamasi as a “community head passionate about enhancing the welfare of his people and also the growth of Bauchi”. He prayed Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.
“I am calling on security agencies to do everything possible to ensure the killers of Riruwai village head are all arrested. They should be made to pay for their heartless action,” the statement added.
