The Senate on Wednesday threatened to suspend plenary if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fails to conduct election into three senatorial districts of Rivers state by December 10.
Our correspondent reports that three senatorial districts and some seats of the state at the House Representatives have been vacant since last year.
The threat was sequel to the adoption of a motion sponsored by the Deputy Senate President,Senator Ike Ekweremadu on the inconclusive election in Rivers State.
The Senate President in his remarks, said the delay in the conduct of the elections endangers the country’s democracy.
