A bill seeking to establish the Federal University of Education (Technical) Bichi, Kano scaled second reading in the Senate Wednesday.
The sponsor of the bill, Senator Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano North), said the proposed university of education was to encourage the advancement of learning to all persons without distinction and to bring quality change in technical education by focusing on teacher education through teaching and learning innovations.

The bill was referred to the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND for further legislative work.
