Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan; Senate Majority leader, Abdullahi Yahayya and four other Senators were in Sokoto on Saturday to attend the wedding fatiha of Senator Adamu Aliero’s son, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu.

Adamu married Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima’s daughter, Dr. Fatima Ahmad Sani.

The wedding was solemnized after the payment of N100,000 bride price.

It was conducted at the residence of Yarima’s elder brother and Emir of Bakura, Alhaji Bello Ahmad Sani, at Mabera area, Sokoto.

The Senate President stood in for the bride, while Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, stood in for the groom.

Other dignitaries who attended the wedding are: Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Senator Bala ibn Na’allah, Senator Ibrahim Gobir and Senator Danbaba Dambuwa.

The wedding Fatiha was also attended by the Ministers of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi; and that of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, several members of the National Assembly from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.

The Nigeria’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Ambassador Sahabi Isa Gada; a former Transport Minister, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, as well as a former Sokoto State APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Alhaji A. A. Gumbi were all at the wedding ceremony.

The governors of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Yobe states, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Senator Abubakar Atiku, Alhaji Bello Matawalle and Alhaji Maii-Mala Buni respectively also graced the wedding Fatiha.

Prayers for the success of the marriage, as well as for peace, unity and socio-economic progress of Nigeria were also offered at the ceremony led by Sheikh Bashir Gidan Kanawa.
