The Coalition of North West Youths for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 and the Niger Delta Youths Assembly has thrown their weight behind Senator Izunaso Osita after meeting the Senators-elect of both regions.
The Senators assured them of their vote for Osita for the interest of the country, according to a statement jointly signed by Abdukadir Shaibu from Kaduna and Godwin Erheriene from Delta State.
According to the statement, Senators elected on the platform of the All progressives Congress (APC) in the North West zone have agreed to ensure the balance of power by supporting the emergence of the ranking member of the Senate and a former National organising Secretary of the party.
It quoted a Senator-elect from the North West, who does not want his name to be mentioned, to have revealed that Senators from North West Zone despite delivering the highest number of votes that ensured that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the 2023 Presidential race had resolved to put the interest and unity of Nigeria above sectional interest and thus have unanimously endorsed the aspiration of Senator Osita Izunasao to become the next President of the Nigerian Senate based on his wealth of experience as the most ranking Senator from the South East region.

The lawmaker stated that Sen. Osita Izunaso is an experienced high-ranking Senator from the South Eastern geo-political zone who made an indelible mark during his firth elective position in the National Assembly, adding that his emergence as the Senate President would quell all the agitations and restiveness of youths occasioned by age-longed marginalisation in the region.
“Sen. Izunaso is a round peg in a round square, a thoroughbred high-ranking legislator per excellence who has distinguished himself as a Nigerian patriot through his bills, motions and oversight functions.
“As the National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressive Congres and also the then Director of Presidential Campaign Council, Contact and Mobilisation for South-East for the just concluded 2023 presidential election, he showcased the true character of a statesman and Nationalist with the manner he carried out the assignments earmarked for him.
“He will unite all Nigerian lawmakers and put his wealth of legislative experience and expertise to bare for the overall interest of Nigerians”.
