The Senate on Thursday passed the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) bill for a third reading.
This was sequel to the consideration and adoption of a report of its committee on special duties, presented to the Senate by its chairman, Senator Kaka Shehu.
The Bill was sponsored by the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Morro and co-sponsored by senators from the North Central region.

Daily Trust reports that the bill was passed for first and second reading on October 5, 2023 and February 21, 2024 respectively.
The commission when established, would be saddled with the responsibility of receiving and managing funds from the federal government and donors to facilitate the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration and reconstruction of roads, houses and business premises of victims of flood and farmer-herder clashes.
