The Senate on Tuesday passed the 2019 budget proposal presented before a joint session of the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 19, last year.
The details of the passed budget showed that the amount has risen from the N8.830 trillion proposed by the president to N8.916trn.
The difference represents an increase of N86 billion in the budget.
The passage of the budget came two weeks later than the original date that the Senate fixed to pass the budget.
Senate President Bukola Saraki had on April 2 said the Senate would pass the budget on April 16.
Despite the fact that the budget report was laid on the floor of the Senate about two weeks ago, its consideration and passage was delayed due to non-availability of details.
