Senate leader condole Yobe NUJ over demise of Channels TV reporter

 The Senate leader, Dr Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, has condole with the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) over the demise of Channels TV  correspondent, Mr Jonathan Gopep.

 
The leader of the Senate, who paid a condolence at the NUJ center, on Monday in Damaturu, said he received the death of Mr. Jonathan Gopep with great shock and grief.
 
The Senate leader, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Ahmed Amshi, described Gopep as an astute, brilliant and dedicated journalist.
 
"Although he will be missed by many and particularly Yobe state NUJ chapter, but we take solace in the fact that he distinguished himself in his chosen career excellently, and will continue to be remembered for his commitment to the father land."
 
He prayed that the Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest.
 
Late Jonathan, aged 45, was a staff of Yobe Television and a freelance reporter with Channels TV until he passed away on May 17, 2018 after a brief illness.
