The Senate on Thursday adjourned plenary till after the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The senators are to reconvene on February 19, which is three days after the two elections must have held.
Our correspondent reports that the elections break will last for about 26 days.

Daily Trust reports that there are at least 68 senators that are re-contesting to retain their seats.
The senators are expected to use the period to campaign for their re-election.
