The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has described Abia-North Senator Orji Kalu as a “priceless asset” to the party.
The declaration was made by the state chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, on Thursday during a “unification” party meeting held at Camp Neya, Igbere, the home of Kalu, which was attended by local government and ward executives, including loyalists of the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Ikechi Emenike.
Dr. Ononogbu highlighted the significant contributions of the former Abia governor, describing them as “indispensable.” He noted that Kalu’s influence has ensured that the party remains a force in the state.
Ononogbu recalled how Kalu’s fatherly guidance helped him reconsider resigning his chairmanship amidst party infractions, declaring Kalu’s home as the fortress of the party in Abia State.

Addressing the executives, Ononogbu lamented the lack of unity among stakeholders, which had caused losses in the last general elections.
On his part, Senator Kalu directed that loyalists of different stakeholders should participate in all political meetings. He stressed the importance of unity and urged members of the OUK Movement and Reality Organisation to work in synergy with the party chairman, emphasising that he does not belong to any faction.
