The FCT police commissioner, CP Babaji Sunday, has said three suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the operatives of the joint security team.
Sunday, who made this known while parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday, said the suspects were arrested in connection to kidnapping incident at Kasanki village, in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja, on December 12, 2022.
He gave the names of the suspects as Haruna Sulu, Abubakar Umaru and Nasiru Umaru, adding that they were all from Niger State.
He said the arrest was made possible following an intelligence-led operation by operatives of Operation G-7, when they stormed a suspected criminal camp at Gulida village, a border community with Abaji Area Council at about 04:00hrs on December 13, 2022.

“It was as a result of the unrelenting efforts the G-7 operatives that led to the arrest of the three suspects and the recovery of some exhibits from them,” he said.
The police commissioner, however, enjoined residents of the FCT to trust and continue to support the police and the new joint security outfit with credible and timely information that would lead to the arrest of criminal elements in the territory.
