The joint security operatives, comprising the police and Anambra vigilantes, have neutralized a member of an armed robbery gang operating along the Nkwo Enugu Ukwu road.
They also recovered an AK47 rifle, two magazines and five rounds of live ammunition.
The joint security forces responded swiftly after receiving credible information about the planned activities of the notorious gang in the area.
The Anambra Police Command’s spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, said the operatives engaged the criminals in a gun duel, during which some of the gang members escaped with bullet wounds.

Ikenga further stated that the operatives had maintained security dominance in the area and have launched operations to apprehend fleeing gang members.
