Security operatives foil bandits’ attack, kill 2 in Niger

Scores of bandits have been reportedly killed by security operatives in Sahon-Rami, a village in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.  

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement in Minna Friday, said two corpses of bandits were recovered.

He said, “On February 25, 2022, about 101hours, information was received that bandits/terrorists attacked Sahon-Rami village, Mashegu Local Government Area and killed three persons.  

“However, police tactical teams and vigilante members were immediately mobilised to the area, and while the bandits were on their way trying to escape, they were engaged in a fierce gun battle.”  

Abiodun added that some of the bandits escaped with gunshot injuries into the forest while they left two corpses of their colleagues.
