The crisis rocking the Bauchi State House of Assembly yesterday took a new dimension as hoodlums attempted to set the complex ablaze, Daily Trust reports.

Our correspondent reports that the quick intervention of security agencies saved the situation.
A combined team of security comprising men of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Department of State Security, and the Nigerian Army rescued the complex.
Last Friday, 22 lawmakers out of 31 accused the Speaker, Abubakar Y Suleiman, and the principal officers of failing to perform their constitutional role well.
When contacted, one of the lawmakers, Mohammed Danumma Bello, said “This is just arrangements by some people; we don’t know anything about it and there is nothing like that.”
The Special Adviser to the Bauchi State Governor on State and National Assembly Liaison, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Burra, confirmed the development.
“Unknown persons last night attempted to burn the House complex as a result of which the security operatives took over the place to avoid breakdown of law and order.”
