A former Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, says all heads of security agencies should immediately tender their resignation if the November 6 Anambra governorship election cannot hold as a result of insecurity in the state and other parts of the South-East.
He said the security agencies have the responsibility to restore normalcy in the state before the November governorship election.

In a chat with Daily Trust, the security expert also warned members of the outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to rethink the path of destruction they have taken.
According to him, their agitation can be better addressed by prevailing on their leaders to fight on their behalf in order to address whatever grievances they have with the federal government.
“The IPOB should know that the path of destruction will not help them.
“They should push for their political and religious leaders to ventilate their grievances to the Federal Government, killing themselves is not an option and even turning to other nationalities will be suicidal for them as you don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house.
“The federal government can solve this problem by running an inclusive government.
“If by the incapability of the security agencies, the INEC cannot conduct a credible and peaceful governorship election in November this year in Anambra state, the leadership of the various security agencies in the country should as a matter of honour tender their letters of resignation to Mr President,” he said.
He noted that the state of insecurity in the five states of the South-East is a cause for concern, charging the Federal Government to also address the perceived marginalization and injustice fueling the agitations.
