Operation Safe Haven security outfit Commander, Major General Augustine Agundu, yesterday said some of his men had been captured and or killed in recent  disturbances in Plateau State.

Agundu said yesterday at an extraordinary meeting of traditional rulers on the recent violence in parts of Plateau State hat a police officer attached to OPSH had disappeared since June while a soldier had also gone missing in the last two weeks with no traces of their bodies.

“Even in the course of that violence in Rukuba road, a soldier was going to visit his family and after buying some suya meat for the family, he was captured in the midst of that mayhem and has disappeared till now, we have not seen the body, I can go on and on,” he said.

He said, “Human dignity has lost its values here on the Plateau as it is much easier to decimate a human being in bits and pieces and bury the remains in different compartments with ease.”

Earlier, the catholic Archbishop of Jos, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama, said the aim of the meeting was to bring traditional leaders together to speak publicly on peaceful coexistence and brainstorm on the way forward for permanent peace.
