Security agencies should maintain the tempo

The country security agencies deserve accolades as they buckled up and are doing wonders in recent time against insurgents. What’s happening is heartwarming and a morale booster to the public.

Recently, it was Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram who met his death. Since then the bad news of insecurity in the North East has drastically reduced. The synergy within the security apparatus is really a welcome development as they are having an upper hand in the fight against criminal elements.

This strategy should be maintained. Criminals, who are hell-bent on destroying the nation and undermining our sovereignty must be decisively dealt with.

Indeed, there would be no development in a lawless society. Industrialization and foreign direct investment can only be achieved in a secure environment.

With the news of the arrest of the self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed secessionist group, Indigenous  People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on Tuesday, Nigerians are heaving a sigh of relief.

All hands must now be on deck to win the war against other criminals terrorizing citizens.

It is high time we focused our energy on the North West. The activities of the bandits must be completely subdued and peace must return to all communities. Nigerians, on our part,  must contribute to bringing peace by reporting suspicious movements to security agencies and assist them in decimating terrorists in their midst.

The territorial integrity of our nation is paramount. Our troops should maintain the tempo and tenaciously hold their ground against all criminal elements.
