The party’s national chairman explained that his party could not produce a presidential aspirant for the election as none of its aspirants were able to meet the requirements of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Falae spoke yesterday while reading a communiqué at the end of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and stakeholders meeting in Abuja, saying that certain conditions were given to the committee that include finding a candidate who will fully implement the National Conference recommendations.
He said SDP would be advised on the candidate that meets the consideration of “intensification of efforts, military and otherwise, to defeat insurgency in the North-Eastern Zone of Nigeria and establishment of security throughout the country.
“Training and empowerment of the unemployed especially the youths on a scale sufficient to reduce it drastically over the next four years,” he said.
While disclosing that the committee has only one week to submit its report, he revealed that the party has over 600 candidates nationwide who would be contesting for various positions in the elections.
