The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) says it has suspended seven of its member in Nasarawa State indefinitely for alleged misconduct.
The state chairman of the association, Mr Boniface Iornumbe, spoke to Daily Trust after an emergency extraordinary stakeholders meeting of the association in Lafia, on Sunday.

He said the members suspended addressed a press conference saying they had dissolved the present exco of the association and nominated and appointed their own exco.
Iornumbe, who described the action of the suspended members as unconstitutional, said it was targeted at disrupting the activities of the association and the quality of education in the state.
He warned the group to desist from using such names as ‘concerned members’ to represent NAPPS in the state, cautioning that such act is inimical to the spirit of their constitution and tantamount to perpetuation of illegality.
He then ordered the immediate shut down of the group’s WhatsApp platforms pending the outcome of the investigation.
Iornumbe also directed the setting up of an investigative panel to look into the activities of the group which, he said, amounted to usurpation of the powers of the constituted authority.
Reacting to the suspension, one of the affected members, Mrs Fumilayo Bankole, said they formed a parallel WhatsApp platform because the present exco has been misusing the association’s funds recklessly.
