The National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme has increased school enrolment, in communities across Kaduna State, the state focal person Saude Amina Atoyebi has said.
Speaking while receiving utensils donated to the state by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Atoyebi said over 700,000 pupils are benefiting from the programme in the state.

According to her, there is an increasing rate of school children registration in schools across the state, which she linked to the success of the school feeding programme.
Earlier, the minister, Sadiyah Umar Farouq, who delivered the utensils at Shiekh Gumi LEA Primary School, said the programme was designed to address poverty in all forms while giving children of the downtrodden access to education.
The minister, who was represented by the ministry’s Deputy Director, Legal, Maimuna Idris, said the feeding programme is one of the four key interventions of the federal government, under the National Social Investment Programme, which seeks to boost school enrollment, nutrition and local economic activities across the country.
