Save the Children International (Sci) has inaugurated a Media Working Group (MWG) aimed at educating and sensitizing stakeholders to ensure the protection of children in the society.
Inaugurating the group, Sci field Manager in Katsina, Dr Abubakar Ahmed, said protection and safe guarding children in the society is a duty bound for all adding that the child has a spectrum of needs which must be secured.
According to him, the media has a great role to play in ensuring the child gets access to quality health and education.
He said parents and government must be seen to be doing the right thing with regards to achieving the set objectives.
Earlier, Murjanatu Kabir, the Community Engagement and Advocacy coordinator, said some of the role of the group include advocating to government, policy makers and religious leaders to reverse unsafe practices for the children.
