The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Abuja has kicked off its annual Ramadan donations, including hosting dinner for fasting Muslims, as well as distribution of copies of the Holy Quran.
The Cultural Attaché to the embassy, Nami JaralLah Al-Shamari, declared the exercise open during a Ramadan iftar on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the symbolic event would simultaneously take place in the cities of Abuja, Lagos, Kano and some other places in the states.
He said about 25 tonnes of date fruits and 70,000 copies of the Quran and its meanings would be made available to at least 50,000 beneficiaries.

The Chief Imam of the National Assembly Quarters, Abuja, and Programme Coordinator of Cultural Affairs in the Saudi embassy, Sheikh Safiyanu Abdullahi, said the gesture would be executed in collaboration with about 150 registered organisations.
