George, leader of the Omo Eko Pataki, who spoke during their meeting in Lagos, said Saturday’s elections were the “last Battle of Berlin” to achieve freedom for the state and put it on a pedestal of growth.

The forum had in attendance the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; and his parents, Barr Olawale Rhodes-Vivour and Madam Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour.

Other members of the forum present include General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd), former Deputy Governor of the state and Mrs Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele.

George, who declared that he remained an “irredentist member of PDP”, however, endorsed the LP candidate, saying he had what it took to lead the state.

He said, “I know the quality for which Gbadebo is made of. I have said that when you remove the facade of political parties, let’s look at personalities. I have no qualms, I have no regrets. I have decided with my fellow Omo Eko Pataki members to say ‘Otoge’ (enough is enough).”

On her part, Mrs Bucknor-Akerele said, “This is the time to free Lagos from the stranglehold that has been on our neck. I have known the Rhodes family since I was born. We have somebody who is one of us; somebody who cannot run away with our money to Iragbiji or anywhere.”
