The death has occurred of Sarkin Musawan Katsina, District Head of Musawa, Muhammad Gidado Usman Liman.

Late Alhaji Muhammad Gidado Usman Liman died in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, 2nd September 2020 after a protracted illness.

The Late traditional ruler died at the age of 77 and left behind two children, Hajia Binta and Hajia Maijidda, many grandchildren and relatives.

Among his relatives were Nigeria’s famous historian, Late Yusuf Bala Usman, and the present member representing Musawa/Matazu federal constituency, Hon. Ahmad Usman Liman.

Late Muhammad Gidado Usman Liman is a grandchild to Emir Muhammad Dikko, first Katsina Emir of the Sullubawa dynasty.

Late Muhammad Gidado was also the last district head appointed by Emir Usman Nagogo, the grandfather of the present Emir.

He was since buried according to Islamic rites at his palace, Sabon Gari, quarters in Musawa Local Government.

Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman and some of his district heads were among the dignitaries that attended the funeral prayer held at 5 pm.

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, who was not in the state when the death occurred, proceeded to Musawa town on Friday in company of his Deputy, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, and other members of his executive council to condole the people of the district.

The governor described the death of the late monarch as a monumental loss not only to the people of the state but Nigeria in general, saying late Sarkin Musawa was a peacemaker and a bridge-builder whose valuable advice would be greatly missed.
