Saraki: Kwara gov has underperformed, his only agenda is to fight me

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki says the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Kwara state has no other agenda but to launch attacks against him and his family.

Speaking at a programme, tagged, “Kwara Talk Show”,  the former senate president said people needed improved infrastructure, job opportunities, politics of inclusion rather than fight against political opponents.

Saraki, who challenged Governor Abdulrazaq to a political debate with the PDP candidate, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi, said the APC administration is afraid to discuss about Kwara because of its low scorecard.

“I challenge them to tell us what they’ve done in the past three and a half years they’ve been in government. Rather they have put the state in reverse gear.

“He’s all out to fight Saraki. No other agenda. No ambition. No plan. People are clamouring for development, employment, infrastructure, he’s after Saraki that even the federal government cannot fight. It’s time to win our state back. The state needs competent people with agenda people to represent us. The PDP has all it takes to win with all our candidates for the forthcoming general elections in this state.

“There is no leadership in APC. They came into power with propaganda, not knowing that attaining power is about performance and achievements. I call on you my people to vote PDP both at the federal and state levels as greater opportunities that could be attracted await us all if we vote Atiku for President. When Atiku is elected, Kwara will be in honey. Now, no one could fight for Kwara at the national level as they could not work closely with the President. I want you to vote for the party that will make Kwara important and deliver for the people”.

In a communique issued at the end of the programme, the participants concluded on the need for the political class to recommit to serving the people, which they said required new thinking, fresh perspectives and selflessness.

The PDP candidate, Abdullahi Yaman, former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, among others attended the programme.
