Saraki heads PDP campaign council for Osun guber poll

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated Campaign Council headed by Senate President Bukola Saraki ahead of the September 22 governorship election in Osun State.

Swearing in the committee members in Abuja on Monday, the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to be neutral and adhere strictly to their professional ethics.

He tasked the committee to augment all campaign activities, reach out to critical stakeholders and mobilise all party members in all the local government areas in the state to vote the party.

“So far, the APC-led government has demonstrated that they are not ready for election, but ready to rig election. Let me advise all the security agencies not to fall into the hands of these misguided APC leaders.

“Their loyalty should be to the constitution, not to an individual. This committee must work in line with the laws of the land, within the constitution for us to win Osun,” Secondus said.

Responding on behalf of the committee members, Saraki said, “We promise to ensure the PDP wins the Osun election. The election is important because PDP has lost two governorship elections in the South West; Ekiti and Ondo. We must win Osun to prove that Osun is the home ground of the PDP.”
