Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State yesterday launched 400 mini and high capacity buses in the First and Last Mile (FLM) bus scheme to connect various communities.

At the launch of 300 mini-buses, he  noted that the initiative aims to take care of commuting the main transit corridors.

The governor also commissioned newly acquired 100 High Capacity BRT, City Buses into operation by the Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL).

The buses which were locally assembled in Lagos can move approximately 960 passengers per bus, daily as well as create about 500 new jobs.

The State Government had in February 2020, restricted the operations of commercial motorcycles popularly as Okadas in six Local Government Areas, nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), and 10 major highways in the State.

“This is the first phase, we hope to provide 5,000 FLM mini-buses for circulation,” he said.
