Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of of Lagos State has hailed ASP Erhator Sunday of the Rapid Respond Squad (RRS) of the police for being professional despite the unruly conduct of a traffic offender.
Sanwo-Olu stated this when he hosted Erhator in his office on Monday.
In a video which went viral on social media, Erator who was armed was seen maintaining his calm despite being provoked by a Lagos resident who drove against traffic in the Victoria Island area of the state.
Sanwo-Olu, who said citizens are quick to point out the fault of bad police officers, said he decided to commend Erhator so that he could be an example to his colleagues and a proof that the police can be civil in the discharge of their duties.
The Governor commended the cop for displaying a high level of decorum, self control, patience and professionalism in handling the provocation in the course of discharging his duty.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had presented the officer before the governor for recognition and a reward.
On Saturday, two young men, Victor Ebhomenye and Etinosa Obaywana, assaulted Erhator who attempted to arrest them for driving against the traffic.
