Barden Kano and the reinstated district head of Bichi, Alhaji Idris Bayero, is dead.
He was the eldest surviving son of a late emir of Kano, Abdullahi Bayero (1926-1953).
The 16th Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi led funeral prayers for the late Barden Kano at Kofar Kudu palace with dozens of mourners in attendance.
Alhaji Idris Bayero was first turbanned Dan Darman Kano and district head of Rimin Gado in 1990 by his elder brother the Late emir Ado Bayero (1963-2014).

In 1992, he was promoted to the title of Dan Buram and later Barde and redeployed to Bichi as district head.
Born in 1934, the deceased attended Kofar Kudu elementary School, Kano, Middle School and Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He worked briefly at the Kano Native Authority before his appointment as secretary Kano emirate council.
He has a stint with Nigeria Arab bank before his appointment as district head.
Alhaji Idris Bayero retired from his position as district head in 2019 when Bichi was elevated to a first-class emirate by the then Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
In June, Emir Sanusi reinstated Alhaji Idris Bayero as district head of Bichi following the dissolution of the emirate in May this year and his subsequent reinstatement as emir by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Alhaji Idris Bayero is survived by a wife, eleven children and many grandchildren.
