A Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Conference of Nigeria Civil Rights Activists (CNCRA), has urged the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, to obey the calls for his resignation in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.

The national vice chairman (North West) of the APC, Mallam Salihu Lukman, had, in a statement at the weekend, stressed that Adamu should resign to give way to a Christian to take his place.

The CNCRA said Adamu’s resignation as APC helmsman would ensure power balancing in the incoming Bola Tinubu’s APC-led government.

The coalition made the call in a statement yesterday through its convener, Ifeanyi Odili, and Secretary, Engr Sina Akadiri.

The rights activists said Adamu’s exit would also be a great opportunity for the APC to assuage the feelings of Christians towards the same faith arrangement of the party in the recently concluded presidential election.
