Sallah: Traders make brisk business in Edo

Traders at the Benin Eid Ground on Akpakpava Road in Edo State, Sunday, made brisk business as Muslims came to offer the two raka’at Eid el-Kabir prayers.

The traders, who sold water, perfume, mats, beverages, shoes, caps, clothing and other items, expressed gratitude to God for giving them the opportunity to get money to celebrate the Sallah.

A trader, Usman Abdullahi, who sold caps, said, “I came to my shade by 7am, and within two hours, I sold over 10 pieces of cap, which I usually battle to sell in days.

“I thank God for today’s business, and May Allah sustain my life to witness another Sallah. I am smiling home with N9,000.”

Another trader, Aliyu Abubakar, who sold shoes, said he made good money to enable him to celebrate the Sallah well.

He said, “Within a short period I made N11,000. So, I can say the business is good because I usually find it difficult to make such on ordinary days.”
