The district head of Madalla community in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State, Alhaji Musa Saidu Madalla, has urged the Muslim faithful in the community to pray for peace in the forthcoming Sallah.
He made this known to City News at Madalla on Monday, saying the purpose of Sallah celebration is “sacrifice,” which is important to every Muslims because it provides an avenue to worship Allah with dedication and prayer.
“In Sallah, what we are asked to do is to share love with one another by helping the needy and forgiving one another and we should be obedient to Allah the greatest, and also, embrace peace with our neighbors,” he said.
He tasked Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad by ensuring that peace reigns in the community, adding that the reason  Muslims slaughter rams on Sallah is a mark of sacrifice to Allah the greatest, which was first practiced by Prophet Abraham.
The district head urged both Christians and Muslims in the community to see themselves as one and by so doing, the community will enjoy peace and move forward.
“In this community, from time immemorial there is no time we have misunderstanding with Christians and we have all been living peacefully and we have a cordial relationship among ourselves till today and sometimes we call both Pastors and Imams and we seat together and rub minds for the sake of peace in the community because we are one and we worship one God,” he said.
