Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan has disbursed cash worth N222.5 million and food items to his constituents in the six Local Government Areas of Yobe North Senatorial District.
The initiative, according to the Chairman of the Selection and Distribution Committee, Alhaji Suleiman Jamo, was to cushion the effects of the economic hardship being experienced by many of the constituents amid preparations for Eid-el-Kabir.
The President of the 9th Senate, Lawan, however, prayed for a successful Eid celebration, saying: “I wish all my constituents a blessed and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration. May the spirit of the season unite us and bring us closer together.”
