Sallah: In search of the biggest and smallest rams in Kano [video]
In Islam, Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, falls on the 10th day of the month of Zhul Hijjah.
Those Muslims who can afford it have been mandated to slaughter animals, according to their means, in remembrance of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) who submitted to divine command by attempting to slaughter his son Isma’il (Ishmael).
The most preferred animal for sacrifice is a ram.
While some will slaughter big rams others will slaughter small ones.
Daily Trust has gone in search of the biggest and the smallest rams in Kano.
