Salisu Isihak emerges FEL-Nigeria chair

Mr. Salisu Isihak has been appointed as chairman of the executive members of the Future Energy Leaders (FEL-Nigeria), an initiative of the World Energy Council (WEC).

The appointment which takes effect from 1st January 2020 is for a period of two years.

Also appointed in the executive team are: Mrs. Safiyya Lawal Atiku as Vice Chairman, Mr. Mustapha Danjuma Ali as Secretary, Mr. Chimaobi Nna as Public Relations Officer and Mr. Uduak Akpan as Member Services and Mobilisation.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, the chairman of the Nigerian National Committee of the World Energy Council (NNC-WEC) Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo said the FEL was established to enable the WEC ensure that youths are kept abreast of energy matters.

The WEC, founded in 1923, is an official UN-accredited non-governmental organisation and strategic partner with other leading energy related organisation.

Nigeria got enlisted into the WEC as member state, known to be Nigerian National Committee (NNC) on the 6th day of April 1960.

The NNC-WEC participates in the activities of the World Energy Council with the view to among other things advice the federal government energy policy formulation and implementation.

Prof. Sambo who was represented by Dr. Ismaila Haliru Zarma of the Energy Commission of Nigeria added that since the establishment of FEL-Nigeria, chapter in 2010, the country has participated in WEC major events in various countries of the world.
