In a move that would boost safety of the Nigerian air space, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote air safety.
The main purpose of the agreement which built on the existing pact with NSIB, formerly the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), was to consolidate the existing relationship between the two agencies on exchange of information, data sharing during occurrences, among others.
This is to help in the quality and timeliness of investigation of air mishaps in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annexes 13 and 19 of the 1994 Chicago convention on International Civil Aviation.
