The newly recruited 1,500 teachers by the Osun State government have begged the new governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to retain them.
The teachers were recruited by the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to augment the number of teachers in public schools in the state.
But the new governor faulted the process of the employment of the new teachers and sacked them.

Speaking with Daily Trust in Osogbo on Monday, some of the sacked teachers, Olalekan Adewole, Adetoyi Taye Esther, Aremu Alaba Olaitan, Esther Kuforiji and Shakirat Awodiran Rotitmi said their recruitment followed due process and begged Adeleke to retain them.
They noted that most of them had resided from where they were working after receiving their appointment letters from the Osun State government and that four of them died recently as a result of depression over the situation.
