The member representing Jaba Local Government Area in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Bako Obadiah, said that the sack of district and village heads by the state government has no legislative backing.
He said no correspondence or circular was served to the state legislative arm on the sack.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna yesterday, Obadiah said the sack had made affected villages increasingly vulnerable to crises, as district and village heads were needed particularly for resolving disputes.
He reiterated that such leaders had played vital roles in lowering the number of cases being attended to by the police and courts.
Commenting on the closed institutions in Southern Kaduna axis on grounds of insecurity, the lawmaker asked that the issue be revisited urgently, considering the relative peace the communities hosting the institutions were currently enjoying.
