One of the leading Imams of the Masjid al haram in the holy city of Saudi Arabia, Fadhilatush Sheikh Abdulmuhsin Alqasimiy has applauded the sterling performance of Nigerian students at the online Qur’anic exchange programme conducted among different Islamic countries.

The Imam who gave the commendation when students of Nurut Tilawat International School, Zaria, paid him a visit at the Holy Mosque in Mecca, said Nigerian students have stood tall among their peers during the last year of the programme.

The online Quranic exchange programme was an initiative of the Quran and Sunnah Academy run by the custodian of the two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia, where hundreds of Islamic countries are enrolled to participate in an enhanced Quranic drilling programme.

Nurut Tilawat International School Zaria is one of the few schools participating from Nigeria based on the recommendation of one of the Chief Imams of the Mosque, Fadhilatush Sheikh Abdulmuhsin Alqasimi and has actively participated in the programme with exemplary performance since last year.

Sheikh Alqasimiy who had earlier directed the enrolment of Nurut Tilawat School into the programme last year expressed pride in taking the decision, as the students have proven their hard work and quest for Islamic knowledge.

He said “Going by the record, the students of Nurut Tilawat have distinguished themselves among various participating schools across the globe. I am highly impressed by your performance after diligent assessment by tutors of the academy. I therefore urged you to maintain and improve on your efforts.” He said.

The Chief Imam assured of his continued support to enhance the performance of the students towards Qur’anic education while pledging to explore more ways of collaboration with Nigerian schools to achieve greater success.

Earlier, in his remarks, Sheikh Nuraddeen Tahir, the Director, Nurut Tilawat International School, Zaria said the visit was aimed at appreciating the gesture and emphasis commitment toward improved performance.
