Royal Choice Inn, a property development company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the management of the University of Jos to build a N1 billion hotel for visitors and sabbatical lecturers in the university.
The Chairman and CEO of the company, Mr Felix Akiga, while signing the agreement at the conference hall of the university on Thursday, said the hotel would comprise accommodation, swimming pool, entrepreneurship centre, among others; adding that the university would not regret the investment.
Akiga who promised to complete the project within three years, said the hotel would boost social and academic tourism and improve the revenue generation capacity of the university.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Ishaya Tanko, appreciated the gesture of the company for siting the project in the university community, saying the project was a long- term dream of the institution.
Prof Tanko promised to give maximum support to the company to ensure that the project was done within the time frame set to complete it.
“These are the kinds of activities that will improve the university. It is a great achievement, especially at this critical time. We are going to benefit a lot from the project. We are really very grateful to witness it,” the VC said.
