Roving Heights hosts Olusegun Adeniyi today

Roving Heights, a new bookstore in Abuja, will today host Olusegun Adeniyi who will discuss his work and the themes of irregular migration and global economic inequality.

The event will be held at Roving Heights in Wuse 2, Abuja by 3pm. Adeniyi, who is author of ‘From Frying Pan to Fire: How African Migrants Risk Everything in their Futile Search for a Better Life in Europe’ will be hosted under the bookstore’s Author Series, described as “an avenue for deep interrogation of non-fiction works written by Nigerian public intellectuals.”

Adeniyi is a Nigerian journalist, current chair of the editorial board of ThisDay newspapers and a former presidential spokesman for the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua. He is a fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) and a founding member of the National Stakeholder Working Group of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). In 1992, Adeniyi won the Jakande Prize for Political Reporter of the Year at Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA). He is the author of ‘The Last 100 Days of Abacha’, ‘Abiola’s Travails’, ‘Fortress on Quicksand’, ‘Politricks: National Assembly under Military Dictatorship’, ‘Power, Politics and Death: A front-row account of Nigeria under the late President Yar’Adua’, and ‘Against the Run of Play: How an incumbent president was defeated in Nigeria.’
