Rotary International District 9125 is set to build a cancer treatment centre to provide free medical care to victims of cancer in Nigeria.
The new District Governor of the district, Rotarian Ayoola Oyedokun, said the gesture is to mark a new shift of the club in addressing critical health challenges in the country.

Oyedokun, who made the disclosure yesterday during his installation as the 13th District Governor in Abuja, vowed to increase membership drive of the district to impact lives of the less privileged.
“The cancer diagnostic centre is to be situated in any part of the country that our district covers so that those who can’t afford cancer treatment and testing will have access to it,” he said.
He added that having been in the forefront of elimination of polio in the country, the club would collaborate with the government to fight diseases threatening lives of those in rural communities.
In his remarks, the Minister of Heath, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, said the federal government is in the process of introducing a new family planning commodities to expand access to contraceptives.
