Rotary president donates 20 wheelchairs to physically challenged

The President of Rotary Club of Jos, Utan, Jane Ogo Egbo, has donated 20 wheelchairs to some physically challenged persons in Jos.

Egbo, who presented the wheelchairs during her investiture held at Crest hotel in Jos, called on the government to support the Rotary Club to make it  realise its goals.

She said the donation of the wheelchairs was to ease their movements in going to school or their businesses.

She warned that if any of the beneficiaries is caught using the wheelchair to beg it would be collected.

Egbo said during her one year tenure she would embark on the building of toilets at some government-owned schools and the sinking of a borehole at the abattoir in the market.

She urged members of the club to be agents of change and to adhere strictly to its objectives of being accountable.

In her remarks, Prof. Benedicta Dauda, who spoke on the topic, ‘Rotarians as Agents of Change’ commended Egbo for reaching out to the needy, adding that the gesture was worth emulation by all.
