The service club, Rotary International, opens camp this Sunday for some 600 youth to build skill and character.
The five-day camp is part of the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards to help young people aged 18 to 30 strengthen leadership skills and responsibility.
The award programme is “a platform to develop the qualities of leadership, citizenship, and personal development among young people in the country,” Rotary’s District 9125 said in a statement.
It is to “energize the next generation of youth as future leaders.”
“We are very proud that the RYLA program just like the United Nations SDGs gives an ample opportunity to develop young leaders while inspiring them to connect, exchange ideas, and take positive action in their communities and country,” it said.
“This is a clarion call for positive thought and action to change our world.”
While on camp at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Academy in Sauka, the young will interact with the NSCDC on security, the CBN on entrepreneurship, NACA on HIV prevention and NAPTIP on human trafficking.
