The Rotary Club of Abuja Garki Neighborhood has donated drugs, sanitary pads, soaps among others to students of Junior Secondary School, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
The club also donated waste bins and planted trees to beautify the school compound.
Twenty indigent students of the school were also given one year scholarship.
Speaking on the gesture, the president of the club, Rotarian Zainab Omowunmi Owonikoko, said it was aimed at promoting conducive learning for the students.
“Rotary is all about service to humanity and we are doing this by supporting education, providing clean water, child and maternal care; disease control and prevention,’’ she said.
Receiving the donations, the principal of the school, Hajiya Gold Fatimoh, hailed the club for its annual commitment to the school, a gesture she described as a morale booster to both the school management and students.
